On That Day

On that day you will say: “I will praise You, Lord, although You were angry with me. Your anger has turned away, and You have had compassion on me.” – Isaiah 12:1
It has been a busy week, but I don’t really mind.  I prefer to be busy as long as I am busy about God’s business. Meetings (don’t you just LOVE them), traveling, emails, phone calls, dentist, DMV … can sometimes fill the calendar and in anticipation of such events, plans are made, dates are set, and priorities made. Depending upon the level of “busy-ness” we may even have to say “no” to some things in order that we are able to say “yes” to the best things. We all must make choices.
Yet, there is one activity, regardless of the level of life’s complexity, that must be on everyone’s calendar. It was, or could be, the most important moment of your entire life and if it has not occurred, then you should desire that it occur as soon as possible. What is this momentous occasion? What one event cannot be missed?
It is the moment when you or I discover that the wrath of God that should have fallen upon us, fell upon His Son (Jesus Christ( instead … the One who died in our place. On that day, life changed … or it will, if you will only believe.
Since no man is excluded from calling upon God, the gate of salvation is open to all. There is nothing else to hinder us from entering, but our own unbelief. – John Calvin
