It Will Be Proclaimed

Therefore, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in an ear in private rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops. – Luke 12:3
Nearing the end of His time on earth, Jesus warned the apostles of the persecution that would surely come their way. In the same way, those who are seeking to proclaim the gospel among the unreached today often include a warning to new believers of likely persecution to come. Instruction is often given on how to be a discreet, yet effective witness for Christ, realizing that one cannot ultimately hide the gospel, because Christ will not allow it to be hidden. True believers will not be silent and when we speak, we should expect to be ridiculed (or worse) for exposing God’s truth.
Of course, wisdom and discernment must be exercised, but history has proven that God’s Kingdom often comes where courage and the blood of the saints commingle. Let us pray for boldness and clarity of message when there is no danger in proclamation … and for the strength, courage, and eternal witness of the persecuted where there is.
I believe that pluralistic secularism, in the long run, is a more deadly poison than straightforward persecution. – Francis Schaeffer
