His Presence Revealed

Why am I so depressed? Why this turmoil within me? Put your hope in God, for I will still praise Him, my Savior and my God. – Psalm 42:11

In days of great difficulty it is easy to feel sorry for yourself and throw a “pity-party,” but the Christ-follower needs to consider the truth that this might not be the desire of God for his life. Christ’s disciple should realize that his deepest trial is often his greatest opportunity to reveal the indwelling presence of Christ. Of course, we would all agree that this is much easier to proclaim than to possess. So what can you do … what can I do when “the chips are down?”

When trouble arises, you and I should remember two things. First, we should remember that Jesus is our salvation, and second, we should remember that He is also God Almighty.

Many things may change in this world. Most of our circumstances are beyond our control and will not remain static, but these two truths will never change: Christ’s salvation and character. With this in mind, if you truly know Him, then you may claim this truth on this day … no matter what else may occur … “Jesus is my Savior and my God.”

Difficulties are God’s errands; and when we are sent upon them, we should esteem it a proof of God’s confidence. – Henry Ward Beecher
