Inexcusable

Moses said, “Please, Lord, send someone else.” – Exodus 4:13

We’re all pretty familiar with Moses’ excuses and his desire to escape his responsibility before God when he was presented with God’s plan to set His people free from Egyptian bondage. In essence, Moses said: “I can’t speak well.” “The Israelites won’t listen.” and “They won’t really believe that You sent me.”
These excuses should seem familiar, because we use them all the time. Of course, we also add our own twist when we say things like, “I’m not called.” “Others are more prepared.” and “It’s just not a good time for me.”
When we present such excuses before the Almighty we, like Moses, are saying, “Please, Lord, send someone else.” But it didn’t work for Moses and it won’t work for us. If we belong to Christ, we cannot be excused from His service and we cannot escape His call.
No matter the excuse, we are not excused.
We are made for larger ends than Earth can encompass. Oh, let us be true to our exalted destiny. – Catherine Booth
