When his family heard what was happening, they tried to take him away. “He’s out of his mind,” they said. – Mark 3:21
I have made some “crazy” decisions in my life … and the majority of them involved a desire to be obedient to Christ!
For example in 1987, it was CRAZY to leave my career and enroll in Seminary … and it was CRAZY to move the family to New York in 1990 (in the dead of winter with no job) … and it was CRAZY to go to Kenya on a short-term mission trip less than a month after 9/11 … and it was CRAZIER STILL to pick up at 51 and move to Africa in 2009. I readily admit that some of our decisions could be labeled, “just nuts.”
Does more “craziness” lie ahead? You should probably ask my wife ;-), but I rest in the assurance that it seems to run in the “family.” Jesus, my Savior and Lord, was also considered by many to be out of His mind. Follow Him. Do life the His way. Folks may look at you like you are strange and may even ridicule you, but just get over it. Often what is “God-normal” will appear to be “ab-normal,” but the truth is that all of us who follow Christ are just “normally crazy.”
