He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will find compassion. – Proverbs 28:13
I believe that the key to holiness is a simple one to discover. Of course, there is nothing simple about being holy, but I do believe there is a practice that when applied gives us the pathway.
This key is transparency.
“The one who conceals his transgressions will not prosper.” So, why do we try to hide our sins from God? He sees everything. He hears everything. He knows everything. Could it be that one of the greatest schemes of our Enemy is to convince us that we can somehow hide our disobedience from a holy, omniscient God? Perhaps this is why the writer went on to say, “… but he who confesses and forsakes [his transgressions] will find compassion.”
Nothing “prospers” like the mercy and forgiveness of God and if you desire that “prosperity,” then embrace a transparent life!
There is no persuasiveness more effectual than the transparency of a single heart, of a sincere life. – Joseph B. Lightfoot
