When anguish comes, they will seek peace, but there will be none. – Ezekiel 7:25
The prophet Ezekiel, writing about the punishment of God upon the nation of Israel, indicated that a day would come when the people would look for peace, but would not find it. The message he was seeking to convey was that the opportunity to reconcile should be appreciated (and taken) when presented, for it might pass by and never appear again.
Similarly, there will be a day when all humanity will be judged by a holy God. Everyone … every single person … will come to this day of judgment and when this day arrives, the opportunity for a last-minute decision will have passed. All those “without” Christ (the Prince of Peace) will seek peace but not find it. On the other hand, those “in” Christ will continue in His peace forever.
If somehow you have stumbled upon this blog post and you do not know Christ, then recognize this as an opportunity to follow Him and take it! If you regularly follow these meager thoughts, then recognize the gift you have been given and express your appreciation to the One who made it possible!
People are dying who haven’t had that opportunity to say, “Yes,” to the Lord. – Michael Scott
