They have healed the brokenness of My people superficially, saying, “Peace, peace,” but there is no peace. – Jeremiah 6:14
In Jeremiah’s day, many prophets were announcing that all was well with God’s chosen people. Yet, these “spokesmen for God” did not comprehend the seriousness of the catastrophe that would soon arrive. These false messengers desired the praise of kings and politicians over the affirmation of the One whose message they claimed to deliver and, as a result, God condemned them for it.
Where are the “prophets” of God today? Where are the people of God to speak the Word of God to the children of God? All is not well!
How much of our churches’ membership is willingly absent from weekly corporate worship? Even in those cases where our buildings are beautiful and full, the hearts of the people remain ugly and empty, having abandoned God’s truth for a more palatable, politically-correct, and (dare I say) marketable platform.
Listen, we can change the paint, the sign, the name, the staff, and every activity or program we desire to undertake, but unless the Spirit of God changes our hearts, revival will remain an unrealized desire.
Is it too late? It is up to you.
Now as for you, son of man, I have appointed you a watchman for the house of Israel; so you will hear a message from My mouth and give them warning from Me. – God to Ezekiel (33:7)
