The land, moreover, shall not be sold permanently, for the land is Mine; for you are but aliens and sojourners with Me. – Leviticus 25:23
If you asked someone, “Where is the best place to put your money?” most would answer, “Land, of course.” The price of land never goes down and, therefore, it is a good investment.
But is it the best?
God told the Israelites that all land (particularly, all the land that He promised) was His and that they should live as foreigners and temporary residents on it. Why would He say this? If a person lives 100 years on this earth and dies, he leaves everything to someone else, including the land on which all his “stuff” sits. We pass through this world, but we do not remain here. We live for eternity, not for today.
Considering this truth, which is the best investment you can make with your life? What is the best investment for all that you must invest? Just imagine the returns!
The awful importance of this life is that it determines eternity. – William Barclay
